Shared Education

Shared Education in P2

Mrs Mitchell’s class welcomed St Nicholas P2 class today for a Shared Education morning. Friendships were fostered as you can see through the photos and the children had a lovely morning full of activities. The two classes will meet regularly right up to P7.

Shared Education in P3

Primary 3 enjoyed their final two shared education days with Sunnylands Primary School and St Nicholas Primary School. Last Thursday Sunnylands Primary joined us for a fun day of castle activities. We designed our own coat of arms and poster for a famous castle, held a mace and even got to try on some real armour including a very heavy metal helmet. We then travelled to St Nicolas Primary today and enjoyed lots of activities about pirates. We designed our own pirate flag and enjoyed listening to a pirate story. We have loved our shared education days this year!

P4 Shared Education

Primary 4 pupils from Sunnylands Primary and Carrickfergus Model had a brilliant time getting creative during some STEM lessons today. They enjoyed creating a boat and trying to float it and then make it travel. Furthermore, pupils had a chance to design their very own Marble Run. Pupils also enjoyed having the opportunity to play with each other in the vast grounds around our school. Everyone had a great time and were buzzing with positive energy and lovely comments before they went their separate ways.

Shared Education Visit to Sunnylands

P2 Mrs Mitchell’s class visited Sunnylands PS this morning as part of the Shared Education programme.  They had lots of fun inside and out.  Lots of friendships have been formed and the children were encouraged to be kind and helpful towards each other.  A big thank you to Sunnylands  for their warm welcome.

P6 Shared Education

On Wednesday P6 pupils worked with their friends from St Nicholas' Primary School to design a shared school sports top, after exploring how clothing is used in our novel, The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, to portray a character's importance.

Primary 4 Researchers

Primary 4 St Nicholas' Primary School and P4 Model Primary School really enjoyed linking up today for some ICT lessons. Pupils enjoyed pairing up for some research using iPads and the computers in the ICT suite. Furthermore, pupils enjoyed uploading saved pictures into Comic Life (APP) and making eye-catching informative posters. Pupils really enjoyed the experience, they gained new ICT skills and at the end of the session they uploaded their work to See Saw for their teacher to enjoy and comment on. Well done P4!

Shared Education Visit to Sunnylands

Primary 4 REALLY enjoyed their visit to Sunnylands Primary School today. They really enjoyed learning about continents and they discovered a lot.

Shared Education

P6 Mr Catterson's class travelled to Sunnylands Primary School today for Shared Education. The lessons were based around our shared novel, 'The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas', and included art, drama, World Around Us and PDMU. We also made a shared school crest for our shared school, 'Model-Lands'! Some playtime in the rain didn't even dampen spirits!

Shared Education

Primary 3 had a fantastic day at St Nicholas' Primary school taking part in their third shared education session of the year. They enjoyed exploring the theme of 'under the water' by listening to the  Smiley Shark story and then creating their own sea creatures and making underwater scenes. They also made sandwiches and fruit kebabs and had fun playing outside. What a wonderful day. We cannot wait until our next shared education session.

Shared Education in P2

P2 had a lovely time this morning at St Nicholas Primary School for a Shared Education venture with the theme of ‘Friendship’. The children all took part in different activities and got to make new friends.

Primary 4 Shared Education Day

Children from St. Nicholas's Primary School and Sunnylands Primary School visited the Model today. The P4 pupils all had a great time playing ice-breaker games, parachute games and having a 'Get to Know You' session. Later on pupils drew and coloured portraits of each other and then had further fun dancing to Super Movers and saying their times tables.

We cannot wait to have our next session together!
